We equip young people in underserved communities with knowledge, confidence, and life skills — blending education and sport to build brighter futures.
At Active Minds Society, we believe in the power of learning and movement to transform lives. We work in underserved township communities across KwaZulu-Natal, empowering children and youth aged 4–35 through innovative programmes that blend education and sport.
Through our work in schools, swimming pools, and play parks, we equip the next generation with career readiness, financial literacy, digital skills, and water safety — because we truly believe the children are our future.
Three focused initiatives designed to build skills, confidence, and community across KwaZulu-Natal.
Weekly swimming lessons for children aged 4–16, delivered by certified coaches. This programme builds confidence, resilience, and lifesaving ability in communities where drowning remains a critical risk.
After-school Maths and Science support for Grade 11 and 12 learners, plus workshops in financial literacy, digital skills, and career guidance to prepare young people for the world of work.
Structured physical education sessions in community play parks. We also offer tailored sessions for home-schooled children — a safe, active, and social learning environment outside traditional school settings.
Book a SessionThrough our swimming programme, we have seen incredible growth — not just in skills, but in confidence, resilience, and a love for the water. Parents have shared how their children, once afraid of swimming, now eagerly look forward to lessons.
Our Fundiseka servers helped drive a 96.3% Matric pass rate in the Ntuzuma circuit in 2025, surpassing the KwaZulu-Natal provincial average of 90.6%.
"The introduction of swimming lessons addresses a critical safety issue. This programme demonstrates a proactive approach to real community challenges — not only identifying issues but taking practical steps to address them."
— Kwanele Myeni, Provincial Coordinator KZN, SAAYC
